On Friday, March 29th, 2020, the master's student in Mining at the Delphos Laboratory, Sergio Montané, passed his grade exam, defending his thesis titled "Methodology of design and optimal semi-automatic sequencing of ramps in underground mining." His evaluating commission consisted of Nelson Morales, Ernesto Arancibia, Jorge Amaya, and Edison Ramírez.
Faced with the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Delphos Mine Planning Laboratory continues its entire work through telework.
This work mode began on March 16th, extending until health conditions are guaranteed for all team members.
On Friday, March 13th, 2020, Magister's student in Mining at Delphos Laboratory, Héctor González, successfully passed his grade exam, titled: Selection of assignment of carguío equipment for the fulfillment of an open pit mining production plan through a simulation and optimization methodology. His evaluating commission consisted of Nelson Morales, Manuel Reyes, and Andrés Parra.
For the third consecutive year, the Summer School in Mine Planning and Operations was held. A training instance aimed at undergraduate students of final years of mining-related careers, organized by Delphos Mine Planning Laboratory, the Advanced Mining Technology Center (AMTC), and the Department of Mine Engineering (DIMIN), belonging to the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Chile and which was developed from January 13th to 24, 2020.
